"I asked Sulaiman whether I should supplicate to Allah when I recited a Verse inciting fear during the prayer. So he narrated to me from Sa'd bin Ubaidah, from Mustawrid, from Silah bin Zufar that Hudhaifah رضی اللہ عنہ narrated that he prayed along with the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم, and that he said when bowing, “Glory be to my mighty Lord, “ and when prostrated himself, “Glory be to my most high Lord, “ and when prostrated himself, “ Glory be to my most high Lord”’ when he came to a verse which spoke to mercy, he stopped and made supplication, and when he came to a verse which spoke of punishment, he stopped and sought refuge in Allah.

میں نے سلیمان سے کہا کہ جب میں نماز میں خوف دلانے والی آیت سے گزروں تو کیا میں دعا مانگوں؟ تو انہوں نے مجھ سے وہ حدیث بیان کی، جسے انہوں نے سعد بن عبیدہ سے، سعید نے مستورد سے، مستورد نے صلہ بن زفر سے اور صلہ بن زفر نے حذیفہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت کیا ہے کہ حذیفہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ نماز پڑھی تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم رکوع میں «سبحان ربي العظيم» کہتے تھے، اور اپنے سجدوں میں «سبحان ربي الأعلى» کہتے تھے، اور رحمت کی کوئی آیت ایسی نہیں گزری جہاں آپ نہ ٹھہرے ہوں، اور اللہ سے سوال نہ کیا ہو، اور عذاب کی کوئی آیت ایسی نہیں گزری جہاں آپ نہ ٹھہرے ہوں اور عذاب سے پناہ نہ مانگی ہو۔
