The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم led us in five rak’ahs of prayer. When he turned away (i.e. finished his prayer), the people whispered among themselves. He asked; what is the matter with you ? They said: Messenger of Allah, has (the number of the rak’ahs of) the prayer been increased ? he said: No. they said; you have offered five rak’ahs of prayer. He then turned away and performed two prostrations, and afterwards gave the salutation. He then said: I am only a human being, I forget, as you forget.

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ہمیں پانچ رکعتیں پڑھائیں، پھر جب آپ مڑے تو لوگوں نے آپس میں چہ میگوئیاں شروع کر دیں، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: کیا بات ہے؟ ، لوگوں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! کیا نماز زیادہ ہو گئی ہے؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: نہیں ، لوگوں نے کہا: آپ نے پانچ رکعتیں پڑھی ہیں، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم مڑے اور سہو کے دو سجدے کئے پھر سلام پھیرا اور فرمایا: میں انسان ہی تو ہوں، جیسے تم لوگ بھولتے ہو ویسے میں بھی بھولتا ہوں ۔
