حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَوْ قَالَ: قَالَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: إِذَا كَانَ لِأَحَدِكُمْ ثَوْبَانِ فَلْيُصَلِّ فِيهِمَا، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ إِلَّا ثَوْبٌ وَاحِدٌ فَلْيَتَّزِرْ بِهِ وَلَا يَشْتَمِلِ اشْتِمَالَ الْيَهُودِ.

The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم as saying, or reported Umar رضی اللہ عنہ as saying (the narrator is doubtful): if one of you has two (piece of) cloth, he should pray in them; if he has a single (piece of) cloth, he should use it as a wrapper, and should not hang it upon the shoulder like the Jews.

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے یا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے فرمایا: جب تم میں سے کسی کے پاس دو کپڑے ہوں تو چاہیئے کہ ان دونوں میں نماز پڑھے، اور اگر ایک ہی کپڑا ہو تو چاہیئے کہ اسے تہہ بند بنا لے اور اسے یہودیوں کی طرح نہ لٹکائے ۔
