حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو تَوْبَةَ الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ الْقُرَشِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَطَاءٌ الْخُرَاسَانِيُّ، عَنْ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ شُعْبَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: لَا يُصَلّيِ الْإِمَامُ فِي الْمَوْضِعِ الَّذِي صَلَّى فِيهِ حَتَّى يَتَحَوَّلَ ، قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد: عَطَاءٌ الْخُرَاسَانِيُّ لَمْ يُدْرِكْ الْمُغِيرَةَ بْنَ شُعْبَةَ.

The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: The Imam should not pray at the place where he led the prayer until he removes (from there). Abu Dawud said: Ata al-Khurasani did not see Mughirah bin Shubah رضی اللہ عنہ (This tradition is, therefore munqati', i.e. a link is missing in the chain).

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: امام اس جگہ پر ( نفل ) نماز نہ پڑھے جہاں اس نے ( فرض ) نماز پڑھی ہے، جب تک کہ وہاں سے ہٹ نہ جائے ۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: عطاء خراسانی کی مغیرہ بن شعبہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے ملاقات نہیں ہے۔
