The Prophet (ﷺ) stood on the day of the breaking of the fast ('Id) and offered prayer. He began the prayer before the sermon. He then addressed the people. When the Prophet (ﷺ) finished the sermon, he descended (from the pulpit) and went to women. He gave them an exhortation while he was leaning on the hand of Bilal. Bilal رضی اللہ عنہ was spreading his garment in which women were putting alms; some women put their rings and others other things. Ibn Bakr (رضی اللہ عنہ ) said that he opened his 'Fath'.

میں نے انہیں یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم عید کے دن کھڑے ہوئے اور نماز فطر ادا کی۔خطبہ سے پہلے، پھر لوگوں سے خطاب کیا۔ جب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم فارغ ہوئے تو آپ اترے اور عورتوں کے پاس گئے اور بلال کے ہاتھ پر ٹیک لگائے ہوئے انہیں یاد دلایا۔ بلال رضی اللہ عنہ اپنا کپڑا پھیلا رہے تھے جس میں عورتیں اپنا صدقہ ڈال رہی تھیں۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”عورت اپنا ’فتخ‘ پھینکتی ہے اور وہ پھینکتی ہے اور وہ پھینکتی ہے۔ ابن بکر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ اس نے اپنا 'فتخ' کھول دیا۔
