حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنَّهَا أَخْبَرَتْهُ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَتْ: لَوْ أَدْرَكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا أَحْدَثَ النِّسَاءُ، لَمَنَعَهُنَّ الْمَسْجِدَ كَمَا مُنِعَهُ نِسَاءُ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ ، قَالَ يَحْيَى: فَقُلْتُ لِعَمْرَةَ: أَمُنِعَهُ نِسَاءُ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ ؟ قَالَتْ: نَعَمْ.

If the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم had seen what the women have invented, he would have prevented them from visiting the mosque (for praying), as the women of the children of the Israel were prevented. Yahya (the narrator) said; I asked ‘Umrah ; were the women of Israel prevented? She said: yes.

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اگر وہ چیزیں دیکھتے جو عورتیں کرنے لگی ہیں تو انہیں مسجد میں آنے سے روک دیتے جیسے بنی اسرائیل کی عورتیں اس سے روک دی گئی تھیں۔ یحییٰ بن سعید کہتے ہیں: میں نے عمرہ سے پوچھا: کیا بنی اسرائیل کی عورتیں اس سے روک دی گئی تھیں؟ انہوں نے کہا: ہاں۔
