حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مَعْمَرٍ، قَالَ: قُلْنَالِخَبَّابٍ هَلْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قُلْنَا: بِمَ كُنْتُمْ تَعْرِفُونَ ذَاكَ ؟ قَالَ: بِاضْطِرَابِ لِحْيَتِهِ .

We asked Khabbab رضی اللہ عنہ : Did the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم recite (the Quran) in the noon and afternoon prayers? He replied: Yes. We then asked: How did you know this? He said: By the shaking of his beard, may peace be upon him

ہم نے خباب رضی اللہ عنہ سے پوچھا: کیا رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ظہر و عصر میں قرآت کرتے تھے؟ انہوں نے کہا: ہاں ( قرآت کرتے تھے ) ، ہم نے کہا: آپ لوگوں کو یہ بات کیسے معلوم ہوتی تھی؟ انہوں نے کہا: آپ کی داڑھی کے ہلنے سے ۱؎۔
