حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ السَّرْحِ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، عَنْ حُيَيٍّ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ يَعْنِي الْحُبُلِيَّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، أَنَّ رَجُلًا، قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّ الْمُؤَذِّنِينَ يَفْضُلُونَنَا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: قُلْ كَمَا يَقُولُونَ، فَإِذَا انْتَهَيْتَ فَسَلْ تُعْطَهْ .

A man said: Messenger of Allah, the muadhdhins excel us. The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: Say (the same words) as they say, and when you come to the end, make a petition and that will be granted to you.

ایک شخص نے عرض کیا: اے اللہ کے رسول! مؤذنوں کو ہم پر فضیلت حاصل ہے، تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تم بھی اسی طرح کہو جس طرح وہ کہتے ہیں ( یعنی اذان کا جواب دو ) ، پھر جب تم اذان ختم کر لو تو ( اللہ تعالیٰ سے ) مانگو، تمہیں دیا جائے گا ۔
