Prayer (Kitab Al-Salat) • Hadith 520

I came to the prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم at Makkah; he was sitting in a tent made of leather. Then Bilal رضی اللہ عنہ came out and called to prayer. I looked at his mouth following him this side and that side (i.e., right and left). Later at his Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم came out clad in a red suit, i.e, wearing the sheets of the Yemen, of the Qatri design. The version narrated by Musa has the word; “I saw Bilal رضی اللہ عنہ going towards al-Abtah”. He then made a call to prayer. When he reached the words “ come to prayer, come to salvation”. He turned his neck right and left, respectively; he did not turn himself (with his whole body). He then entered (his house) and came out with a lancet. The narrator then reported the rest of the tradition.

میں مکہ میں نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آیا، آپ چمڑے کے ایک لال خیمہ میں تھے، بلال رضی اللہ عنہ باہر نکلے پھر اذان دی، میں انہیں اپنے منہ کو ادھر ادھر پھیرتے دیکھ رہا تھا، پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نکلے، آپ یمنی قطری چادروں ۱؎ سے بنے سرخ جوڑے پہنے ہوئے تھے، موسی بن اسماعیل اپنی روایت میں کہتے ہیں کہ ابوحجیفہ نے کہا: میں نے بلال رضی اللہ عنہ کو دیکھا کہ وہ ابطح کی طرف نکلے پھر اذان دی، جب «حي على الصلاة» اور «حي على الفلاح» پر پہنچے تو اپنی گردن دائیں اور بائیں جانب موڑی اور خود نہیں گھومے ۲؎، پھر وہ اندر گئے اور نیزہ نکالا، پھر راوی نے پوری حدیث بیان کی۔
