I remember from the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم two periods of silence. Saeed said: We asked Qatadah: What are those two periods of silence? He said: (one) when he began his prayer, and (one) when he finished the recitation. Then he added: When he finished reciting (the closing verse of the Fatihah): Not of those with whom Thou art angry, nor of who go astray.

میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے دو سکتے یاد رکھے ہیں، سعید کہتے ہیں: ہم نے قتادہ سے پوچھا: یہ دو سکتے کون کون سے ہیں؟ تو انہوں نے کہا: جب آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نماز میں داخل ہوتے اور جب آپ قرات سے فارغ ہوتے، پھر اس کے بعد انہوں نے یہ بھی کہا: جب آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم «غير المغضوب عليهم ولا الضالين» کہہ لیتے۔
