حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ، قَالَ: سُئِلَ قَتَادَةُ عَنْ التَّيَمُّمِ فِي السَّفَرِ، فَقَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي مُحَدِّثٌ، عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى، عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ يَاسِرٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: إِلَى الْمِرْفَقَيْنِ .

Qatadah was asked about tayammum during a journey. He said: A traditionist reported to me from al-Shabi from Abdur-Rahman bin Abza on the authority of Ammar bin Yasir who reported the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم as saying: (He should wipe) up to the elbows.

قتادہ سے سفر میں تیمم کے متعلق پوچھا گیا تو انہوں نے کہا: مجھ سے ایک محدث نے بیان کیا ہے، اس نے شعبی سے شعبی نے عبدالرحمٰن بن ابزی سے ابزی نے عمار بن یاسر رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت کی ہے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: کہنیوں تک ( مسح کرے ) ۔
