حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، حَدَّثَنِي عَلْقَمَةُ بْنُ مَرْثَدٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ خَمْسَ صَلَوَاتٍ بِوُضُوءٍ وَاحِدٍ، وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ عُمَرُ: إِنِّي رَأَيْتُكَ صَنَعْتَ الْيَوْمَ شَيْئًا لَمْ تَكُنْ تَصْنَعُهُ، قَالَ: عَمْدًا صَنَعْتُهُ.

The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم performed five prayers with the same ablution of the occasion of the capture of Makkah, and he wiped over his socks. Umar رضی اللہ عنہ said to him (the Prophet): I saw you doing a thing today that you never did. He said: I did it deliberately.

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فتح مکہ کے دن ایک ہی وضو سے پانچ نمازیں ادا کیں، اور اپنے دونوں موزوں پر مسح کیا، اس پر عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے کہا: میں نے آج آپ کو وہ کام کرتے دیکھا ہے جو آپ کبھی نہیں کرتے تھے ۱؎ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: میں نے ایسا جان بوجھ کر کیا ہے ۔
