حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَلَّى بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُسْهِرٍ، عَنْ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، قَالَ: كَانَتْ أُمُّ حَبِيبَةَ تُسْتَحَاضُ فَكَانَ زَوْجُهَا يَغْشَاهَا ، قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد: وقَالَ يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ: مُعَلَّى ثِقَةٌ، وَكَانَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ لَا يَرْوِي عَنْهُ، لِأَنَّهُ كَانَ يَنْظُرُ فِي الرَّأْيِ.

Umm Habibah used to suffer from Istihadah, and her husband used to have Intercourse with her." Abu Dawud said: Yahya bin Ma'in said: "Mu'allah (one of the narrators) is trustworthy." And Ahmad bin Hanbal would not report from him because he used to venture in opinion.

ام حبیبہ رضی اللہ عنہا کو استحاضہ کا خون آتا تھا اور ان کے شوہر ان سے صحبت کرتے تھے۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں کہ یحییٰ بن معین نے کہا ہے کہ معلی ثقہ ہیں اور احمد بن حنبل ان سے اس لیے روایت نہیں کرتے تھے کہ وہ قیاس و رائے میں دخل رکھتے تھے۔
