حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي شُعَيْبٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا دَلْهَمُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ حُجَيْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ النَّجَاشِيَّ أَهْدَى إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خُفَّيْنِ أَسْوَدَيْنِ سَاذَجَيْنِ فَلَبِسَهُمَا، ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَيْهِمَا ، قَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ، عَنْ دَلْهَمِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ، قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد: هَذَا مِمَّا تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ أَهْلُ الْبَصْرَةِ.

Negus presented to the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم two black and simple socks. He put them on; then he performed ablution and wiped over them. Musaddad reported this tradition from Dulham bin Salih. Abu Dawud said: This tradition has been narrated by the people of Basrah alone.

نجاشی ( اصحمہ بن بحر ) نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں دو سادہ سیاہ موزے ہدیے میں بھیجے، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے انہیں پہنا، پھر وضو کیا اور ان پر مسح کیا۔ مسدد نے دلھم بن صالح کی سند سے کہا۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: یہ صرف اہل بصرہ کی روایتوں میں سے ایک ہے۔
