حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الْغُبَرِيُّ، وَأَبُو كَامِلٍ الْجَحْدَرِيُّ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ قَالُوا: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ مَطَرٍ الْوَرَّاقِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ يَعْمَرَ، قَالَ: لَمَّا تَكَلَّمَ مَعْبَدٌ بِمَا تَكَلَّمَ بِهِ فِي شَأْنِ الْقَدَرِ أَنْكَرْنَا ذَلِكَ، قَالَ: فَحَجَجْتُ أَنَا وَحُمَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحِمْيَرِيُّ حَجَّةً، وَسَاقُوا الْحَدِيثَ بِمَعْنَى حَدِيثِ كَهْمَسٍ وَإِسْنَادِهِ، وَفِيهِ بَعْضُ زِيَادَةٍ وَنُقْصَانُ أَحْرُفٍ.

When Ma'bad discussed the problem pertaining to Divine Decree, we refuted that. He (the narrator) said I and Humaid b. Abdur-Rahman Himyari argued. And they carried on the conversation about the purport of the hadith related by Kahmas and its chain of transmission too, and there is some variation of words.

جب معبد ( جہنی ) نے تقدیر کے بارے میں وہ ( سب ) کہا جو کہا ، تو ہم نے اسے سخت ناپسند کیا ( یحییٰ نے کہا ) میں اور حمید بن عبد الرحمٰن حمیری نے حج کیا .... اس کے بعد انہوں نے کہمس کے واسطے سے بیان کردہ حدیث کے مطابق حدیث بیان کی ، البتہ الفاظ میں کچھ کمی بیشی ہے
