حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ح، وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، وَوَكِيعٌ ح، وَحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي جَمِيعًا عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ ضَرَبَ الْخُدُودَ، أَوْ شَقَّ الْجُيُوبَ، أَوْ دَعَا بِدَعْوَى الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ» هَذَا حَدِيثُ يَحْيَى، وَأَمَّا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ فَقَالَا: «وَشَقَّ وَدَعَا بِغَيْرِ أَلِفٍ».

The Prophet observed: He is not one of us (one among the Ummah of Islam) who beat the cheeks or tore the front opening of the shirt or uttered the slogans of (the days of) Jahiliya (ignorance). Ibn Numair and Abu Bakr said (instead of the word au (or) it is wa [and] the words are) and tore and uttered (the slogans) of Jahiliya without alif .

رسول ا للہ ﷺ نے فرمایا : ’’ جس نے رخسار پیٹے یا گریبان چاک کیا یا اہل جاہلیت کی طرح پکارا ، وہ ہم میں سے نہیں ۔ ‘ ‘ یہ یحییٰ کی حدیث ہے ( جو انہوں نے ابو معاویہ کے واسطے سے بیان کی ۔ ) البتہ ( محمد ) ابن نمیر اور ابو بکر بن ابی شیبہ ( جنہوں نے ابو معاویہ او روکیع دونوں سے روایت کی ) نے ’’او ‘ ‘ کے بجائے الف کے بغیر ’و ‘ ( ’’یا ‘ ‘ کےبجاےئ’’اور ‘ ‘ ) کہا ہے ۔
