حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ طَرِيفِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا نَضْرَةَ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: انْتَهَيْنَا إِلَى غَدِيرٍ فَإِذَا فِيهِ جِيفَةُ حِمَارٍ، قَالَ: فَكَفَفْنَا عَنْهُ حَتَّى انْتَهَى إِلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: إِنَّ الْمَاءَ لَا يُنَجِّسُهُ شَيْءٌ ، اسْتَقَيْنَا، وَأَرْوَيْنَا، وَحَمَلْنَا.

We came to a pond in which there was the carcass of a donkey, so we refrained from using the water until the Messenger of Allah came to us and said: 'Water is not made impure by anything.' Then we drank from it and gave it to our animals to drink, and we carried some with us.

ہم ایک تالاب پر پہنچے تو دیکھا کہ اس میں ایک گدھے کی لاش پڑی ہوئی ہے ہم اس ( کے استعمال ) سے رک گئے، یہاں تک کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ہمارے پاس پہنچے، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: پانی کو کوئی چیز ناپاک نہیں کرتی ( یہ سنا ) تو ہم نے پیا پلایا، اور پانی بھر کر لاد لیا۔
