حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا الصَّلْتُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ صُهْبَانَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ، يَقُولُ: مَا تَغَنَّيْتُ، وَلَا تَمَنَّيْتُ، وَلَا مَسِسْتُ ذَكَرِي بِيَمِينِي مُنْذُ بَايَعْتُ بِهَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .

I heard 'Uthman bin 'Affan رضی اللہ عنہ say: 'I never sang a song or told a lie or touched my penis with my right hand after I swore on oath of allegiance to the Messenger of Allah to that effect.'

میں نے عثمان بن عفان رضی اللہ عنہ کو کہتے ہوئے سنا: جب سے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے میں نے اس ہاتھ کے ذریعہ بیعت کی نہ تو میں نے گانا گایا، اور نہ جھوٹ بولا، اور نہ اپنی شرمگاہ کو داہنے ہاتھ سے چھوا ۔
