أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قال: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ، ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ كَلِمَةً مَعْنَاهَا، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ حَبِيبٍ، قال: سَمِعْتُ عَبَّادَ بْنَ تَمِيمٍ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ جَدَّتِي وَهِيَ أُمُّ عُمَارَةَ بِنْتُ كَعْبٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَوَضَّأَ فَأُتِيَ بِمَاءٍ فِي إِنَاءٍ قَدْرَ ثُلُثَيِ الْمُدِّ . قَالَ شُعْبَةُ: فَأَحْفَظُ أَنَّهُ غَسَلَ ذِرَاعَيْهِ وَجَعَلَ يَدْلُكُهُمَا وَيَمْسَحُ أُذُنَيْهِ بَاطِنَهُمَا . وَلَا أَحْفَظُ أَنَّهُ مَسَحَ ظَاهِرَهُمَا.

It was narrated from Shu'bah that Habib said: I heard 'Abbad bin Tamim narrate from my grandmother - who was Umm 'Umarah bint Ka'b - that the Prophet (ﷺ) performed Wudu', and he was brought a vessel in which there were two-thirds of a Mudd. Shu'bah said: I remember that he washed his forearms and started rubbing them, and he wiped the inside of his ear, but I do not remember whether he wiped the outside of them.

نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے وضو کا ارادہ کیا تو آپ کی خدمت میں ایک برتن میں دو تہائی مد کے بقدر پانی لایا گیا، ( شعبہ کہتے ہیں: مجھے اتنا اور یاد ہے کہ ) آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اپنے دونوں ہاتھوں کو دھویا، اور انہیں ملنے اور اپنے دونوں کانوں کے داخلی حصے کا مسح کرنے لگے، اور مجھے یہ نہیں یاد کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان کے اوپری ( ظاہری ) حصے کا مسح کیا۔
