أَخْبَرَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، قال: حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى، قال: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ أَبِي عَائِشَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، قال: جَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْأَلُهُ عَنِ الْوُضُوءِ فَأَرَاهُ الْوُضُوءَ ثَلَاثًا ثَلَاثًا، ثُمَّ قَالَ: هَكَذَا الْوُضُوءُ، فَمَنْ زَادَ عَلَى هَذَا فَقَدْ أَسَاءَ وَتَعَدَّى وَظَلَمَ .

It was narrated from 'Amr bin Shu'aib, from his father, that his grandfather said: A Bedouin came to the Prophet (ﷺ) to ask him about Wudu', so he showed him how to perform Wudu', washing each part three times, then he said: 'This is Wudu'. Whoever does more than that has done badly, done to extremes and done wrong.'

نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس ایک دیہاتی آیا، وہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے وضو کے بارے میں پوچھ رہا تھا، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اسے تین تین بار اعضاء وضو دھو کر کے دکھائے، پھر فرمایا: اسی طرح وضو کرنا ہے، جس نے اس پر زیادتی کی اس نے برا کیا، وہ حد سے آگے بڑھا اور اس نے ظلم کیا ۱؎۔
