The Book of Purification • Hadith 209

It was narrated from Umm Salamah that a woman suffered constant bleeding at the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), so Umm Salamah consulted the Prophet (ﷺ) for her. He said: Let her count the number of nights and says that she used to menstruate each month before this happened to her, and let her stop praying for that amount of time each month. Then when that is over let her perform Ghusl, then let her use a pad, and pray.

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے زمانہ میں ایک عورت کو کثرت سے خون آتا تھا، تو ام المؤمنین ام سلمہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے اس کے لیے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے فتوی پوچھا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا:  وہ مہینہ کے ان دنوں اور راتوں کو شمار کر لے جس میں اس بیماری سے جو اسے لاحق ہوئی ہے پہلے حیض آیا کرتا تھا، پھر ہر مہینہ اسی کے برابر نماز چھوڑ دے، اور جب یہ دن گزر جائیں تو غسل کرے، پھر لنگوٹ باندھے، پھر نماز پڑھے ۔
