حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ صُرَدٍ، عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعِمٍ، قَالَ: تَمَارَوْا فِي الْغُسْلِ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَمَّا أَنَا فَأُفِيضُ عَلَى رَأْسِي ثَلَاثَ أَكُفٍّ .

(The Companions) disputed in the presence of the Messenger of Allah about having a bath to cleanse oneself from sexual impurity. The Messenger of Allah said: 'As for me, I pour three handfuls of water on my head.'

صحابہ کرام رضی اللہ عنہم نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس غسل جنابت کے بارے میں بحث و مباحثہ کیا، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: میں تو اپنے سر پہ تین چلو پانی ڈالتا ہوں ۔
