حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ سَجَّادَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأُمَوِيُّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ، عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ نُسَيٍّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ غَنْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ، قَالَ: لَمَّا بَعَثَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى الْيَمَنِ، قَالَ: لَا تَقْضِيَنَّ، وَلَا تَفْصِلَنَّ إِلَّا بِمَا تَعْلَمُ، فَإِنْ أَشْكَلَ عَلَيْكَ أَمْرٌ فَقِفْ حَتَّى تَبَيَّنَهُ، أَوْ تَكْتُبَ إِلَيَّ فِيهِ .

When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sent me to Yemen, he said: 'Do not pass any judgment or make any decision except on the basis of what you know. If you are uncertain about a matter, wait until you understand it fully, or write to me concerning it.' (Maudu')

جب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھ کو یمن بھیجا تو فرمایا: جن امور و مسائل کا تمہیں علم ہو انہیں کے بارے میں فیصلے کرنا، اگر کوئی معاملہ تمہارے اوپر مشتبہ ہو جائے تو ٹھہرنا انتظار کرنا یہاں تک کہ تم اس کی حقیقت معلوم کر لو، یا اس سلسلہ میں میرے پاس لکھو ۔
