حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، وَعَمْرُو بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق، عَنْ أَبِي لَيْلَى الْكِنْدِيِّ، قَالَ: جَاءَ خَبَّابٌ إِلَى عُمَرَ، فَقَالَ: ادْنُ فَمَا أَحَدٌ أَحَقَّ بِهَذَا الْمَجْلِسِ مِنْكَ إِلَّا عَمَّارٌ، فَجَعَلَ خَبَّابٌ يُرِيهِ آثَارًا بِظَهْرِهِ مِمَّا عَذَّبَهُ الْمُشْرِكُونَ .

Khabbab رضی اللہ عنہ came to `Umar رضی اللہ عنہ and said: 'Come close, for no one deserves this meeting more than you, except `Ammar رضی اللہ عنہ .' Then Khabbab رضی اللہ عنہ started to show him the marks on his back where the idolaters had tortured him.

خباب رضی اللہ عنہ عمر رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس آئے، تو عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: میرے قریب بیٹھو، تم سے بڑھ کر میرے قریب بیٹھنے کا کوئی مستحق نہیں سوائے عمار رضی اللہ عنہ کے، پھر خباب رضی اللہ عنہ اپنی پیٹھ پر مشرکین کی مار پیٹ کے نشانات ان کو دکھانے لگے ۔
