حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ حَمْزَةَ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ: أَنَّ شَاعِرًا مَدَحَ بِلَالَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، فَقَالَ: بِلَالُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ خَيْرُ بِلَالٍ، فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ: كَذَبْتَ لَا، بَلْ بِلَالُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ خَيْرُ بِلَالٍ .

A poet praised Bilal bin 'Abdullah and said: Bilal bin 'Abdullah is better than any other Bilal. Ibn 'Umar رضی اللہ عنہما said: 'You are lying. The Bilal of the Messenger of Allah is better than any other Bilal.'

ایک شاعر نے بلال بن عبداللہ کی مدح سرائی کی، اور مصرعہ کہا: «بلال بن عبد الله خير بلال» بلال بن عبداللہ بلالوں میں سب سے بہتر ہیں ، تو ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہا: تم غلط کہہ رہے ہو، ایسا نہیں ہے، بلکہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے بلال بلالوں میں سب سے افضل اور بہتر ہیں۔
