حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْمَكِّيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، وحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ خَلَّادٍ الْبَاهِلِيُّ - وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ - قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ سُفْيَانَ بْنَ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ سَعْدَ بْنَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ يَقُولُ: «لَا يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَّا الثِّقَاتُ»

He said, I heard Sa’d bin Ibrāhīm saying: ‘There is to be no narrating on authority of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah send blessings and peace upon him, except by trustworthy narrators (Thiqāt)’.

کہا : میں نے سعد بن ابراہیم ( بن عبد الرحمن بن عوف ) سے سنا ، کہہ رہے تھے : ثقہ راویوں کے علاوہ اور نہ کوئی شخص رسول اللہﷺ سے حدیث بیان نہ کرے ۔
