حَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ ح، وَحَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ كِلَاهُمَا عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ: أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ وَرَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَجِيٌّ لِرَجُلٍ - وَفِي حَدِيثِ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ: وَنَبِيُّ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُنَاجِي الرَّجُلَ - فَمَا قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ حَتَّى نَامَ الْقَوْمُ.

(The people) stood up for prayer and the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) was whispering to a man, and in the narration of 'Abdul-Warith (the words are): The Apostle of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) was having a private conversation with a man, and did not start the prayer till the people dozed off.

نماز کے لیے تکبیر کہہ دی گئی اور رسول اللہﷺ ایک آدمی سے بہت قریب ہو کر آہستہ آہستہ بات کر رہے تھے ۔ ( عبد الوارث کی روایت میں ورسول الله ﷺ نجي لرجل کے بجائے ونبی اللہ ﷺ یناجی الرجل آپ ایک آدمی سے آہستہ آہستہ باتیں کر رہے تھے ہے ۔ مفہوم ایک ہے ) تو آپ نماز کے لیے کھڑے نہیں ہوئے یہاں تک کہ لوگ ( بیٹھےبیٹھے ) سو گئے ۔
