It was narrated from 'Aishah that if the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) wanted to sleep while he was Junub, he would perform Wudu', and if he wanted to eat he would wash his hands.

The Prophet said: Whoever seeks knowledge for a reason other than the sake of Allah, or intends it for a purpose other than for the sake of Allah, let him take his place in hell.

نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جس شخص نے غیر اللہ کے لیے علم طلب کیا، یا اللہ کے علاوہ کی ( رضا مندی ) چاہی، تو وہ اپنا ٹھکانا جہنم کو بنا لے ۔
Among the jews, when a women menstruated, they ejected her from the house, and they did not eat with her, nor did they drink with her, nor did they associate with her in (their houses) so the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم was questioned about that. Thereupon Allah revealed: “They question thee concerning menstruation. Say: I: is an illness, so let woman alone at such times” (ii 222). The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم then said: Associate with them in the houses and do everything except sexual intercourse. Thereupon the Jews said: This man does not want to leave anything we do without opposing us in it. Usaid bin Hudair and Abbad bin Bishr رضی اللہ عنہما came and said: Messenger of Allah, the jews are saying such and such a thing. Shall we not then have intercourse with women during mensuration? The face of the Messenger Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم underwent such a change that we thought he was angry with them; but when they went out they received a gift of milk which was being brought to the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم, and he sent after them and gave them a drink, whereupon we thought that he was not angry with them.

یہود کی عورتوں میں جب کسی کو حیض آتا تو وہ اسے گھر سے نکال دیتے تھے، نہ اس کو ساتھ کھلاتے پلاتے، نہ اس کے ساتھ ایک گھر میں رہتے تھے، اس کے متعلق رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے دریافت کیا گیا تو اس وقت اللہ تعالیٰ نے یہ آیت نازل فرمائی: «ويسألونك عن المحيض قل هو أذى فاعتزلوا النساء في المحيض» اے محمد! لوگ آپ سے حیض کے بارے میں سوال کرتے ہیں، تو کہہ دیجئیے کہ وہ گندگی ہے، لہٰذا حالت حیض میں تم عورتوں سے الگ رہو ، تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تم ان کے ساتھ گھروں میں رہو اور سارے کام کرو سوائے جماع کے ، یہ سن کر یہودیوں نے کہا: یہ شخص کوئی بھی ایسی چیز نہیں چھوڑنا چاہتا ہے جس میں وہ ہماری مخالفت نہ کرے، چنانچہ اسید بن حضیر اور عباد بن بشر رضی اللہ عنہما نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آئے اور آپ سے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! یہود ایسی ایسی باتیں کرتے ہیں، پھر ہم کیوں نہ ان سے حالت حیض میں جماع کریں؟ یہ سن کر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا چہرہ مبارک متغیر ہو گیا، یہاں تک کہ ہم نے گمان کیا کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ان دونوں پر خفا ہو گئے ہیں، وہ دونوں ابھی نکلے ہی تھے کہ اتنے میں آپ کے پاس دودھ کا ہدیہ آ گیا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان دونوں کو بلا بھیجا اور ( جب وہ آئے تو ) انہیں دودھ پلایا، تب جا کر ہم کو یہ پتہ چلا کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ان دونوں سے ناراض نہیں ہیں۔
A man said: Messenger of Allah, which offence is the most grievous in the eye of Allah? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: That you associate a partner with Allah (despite the fact) that He created you. He (the man) said: What next? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: That you kill your child out of fear that he would join you in food. He (the inquirer) said (again): What next? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: That you commit adultery with the wife of your neighbour. And the Almighty and Exalted Lord testified it (with this verse): All those who call not unto another god along with Allah, and slay not any soul which Allah has forbidden, except in the cause of justice, nor commit fornication, and he who does this shall meet a requital of sin (xxv. 68).

ایک آدمی نے پوچھا : اے اللہ کے رسول !اللہ کے ہاں سب سے بڑا گناہ کون سا ہے ؟ آپ نے فرمایا : ’’ یہ کہ م اللہ کے ساتھ کوئی شریک ( بنا کر ) پکارو ، حالانکہ اسی ( اللہ ) نے تمہیں پیدا کیا ہے ۔ ‘ ‘ اس نے پوچھا : پھر کون سا؟فرمایا : ’’ یہ کہ تم اپنے بچے کو اس ڈر سے قتل کر دو کہ وہ تمہارے ساتھ کھائے گا ۔ ‘ ‘ اس نے پوچھا : پھر کون سا ؟ آپ نے فرمایا : ’’ یہ کہ تم اپنی پڑوسی کی بیوی سے زنا کرو ۔ ‘ ‘ اللہ تعالیٰ نے اس ( بات ) کی تصدیق میں یہ آیت نازل فرمائی : ’’ جو لوگ اللہ کےساتھ کسی اور کو معبود ( بنا کر ) نہیں پکارتے اور کسی جان کو جسے ( قتل کرنا ) اللہ نے حرام ٹھہرایا ہے ، حق کے بغیر قتل نیہں کرتے اور جو زنا نہیں کرتے ( وہی رحمٰن کے مومن بندےہیں ۔ ) اور جو ان ( کاموں ) کا ارتکاب کرے گا ، وہ سخت گنا ہ ( کی سزا ) سے دو چار ہو گا ۔ ‘ ‘
It was narrated from Abu Salamah that 'Aishah said: If the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) wanted to sleep while he was Junub, he would perform Wudu', and if he wanted to eat or drink, she said: he would wash his hands and then eat or drink.

I would eat flesh from a bone when I was menstruating, then hand it over to the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم and he would put his mouth where I had put my mouth: I would drink, then hand it over to him, and he would put his mouth ( at the place) where I drank.

میں حالت حیض میں ہڈی سے گوشت نوچتی، پھر اسے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو دیتی، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اپنا منہ اسی جگہ پر رکھتے جہاں میں رکھتی تھی اور میں پانی پی کر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو دیتی تو آپ اپنا منہ اسی جگہ پر رکھ کر پیتے جہاں سے میں پیتی تھی۔
We were in the company of the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) that he observed: Should I not inform you about the most grievous of the grave sins? (The Holy Prophet) repeated it three times, and then said: Associating anyone with Allah, disobedience to parents, false testimony or false utterance. The Prophet was reclining, then he sat up, and he repeated it so many times that we wished that he should become silent.

ہم رسول اللہ ﷺ کی خدمت میں حاضر تھے تو آپ نے فرمایا : ’’ کیا میں تمہیں کبیرہ گناہوں میں سب سے بڑے گناہوں کی خبر نہ دوں ؟ ( آپ نے یہ تین بار کہا ) پھر فرمایا : ’’ اللہ تعالیٰ کے ساتھ شرک کرنا ، والدین کی نافرمانی کرنا اور جھوٹی گواہی دینا ( یافرمایا : جھوٹ بولنا ) ‘ ‘ رسول اللہﷺ ( پہلے ) ٹیک لگا کر بیٹھے ہوئے تھے ، پھر آپ سیدھے ہو کر بیٹھ گئے اور اس بات کو دہراتے رہے حتی کہ ہم نے ( دل میں ) کہا : کاش! آپ مزید نہ دہرائیں ۔
It was narrated that 'Aishah said: If the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) wanted to sleep while he was Junub, he would perform Wudu' as for prayer before sleeping.

It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin 'Umar that 'Umar said: O Messenger of Allah! May any one of us sleep while he is Junub? He said: When he performs Wudu'.

The Prophet said: There is no man who memorizes knowledge then conceals it, but he will be brought forth on the Day of Resurrection bridled with reins of fire. (Hasan) Another chain with similar wording.

The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said to me; Get me the mat from the mosque. I said ; I am menstruating. The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم then replied: Your menstruation is not in your hand.

The Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) talked about the major sins, or he was asked about the major sins. Upon this he observed: Associating anyone with Allah, killing of a person, disobedience to parents. He (the Prophet ﷺ further) said: Should I not inform you about the gravest of the major sins, and (in this connection) observed: False utterance or false testimony. Shu'ba said. It was most probably false testimony .

رسول اللہ ﷺ نے بڑے گناہوں کا تذکرہ فرمایا ( یاآپ سے بڑے گناہوں کے بارے میں سوال کیا گیا ) تو آپ نے فرمایا : ’’ اللہ کے ساتھ شرک کرنا ، کسی کو ناحق قتل کرنا اور والدین کی نافرمانی کرنا ۔ ‘ ‘ ( پھر ) آپ نے فرمایا : ’’ کیا تمہیں کبیرہ گناہوں میں سب سے بڑا گناہ نہ بتاؤں ؟ ‘ ‘ فرمایا : ’’جھوٹ بولنا ( یا فرمایا : جھوٹی گواہی دینا ) ‘ ‘ شعبہ کاقول ہے : میرا ظن غالب یہ ہے کہ وہ ’’ جھوٹی گواہی ‘ ‘ ہے ۔
It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: Umar mentioned to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) that he became Junub at night, and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Perform Wudu' and wash you penis, then sleep.'

عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے ذکر کیا کہ وہ رات میں جنبی ہو جاتے ہیں تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: وضو کر لو اور اپنا عضو مخصوص دھو لو، پھر سو جاؤ ۔
Narrator: It was narrated that 'Abdur-Rahman bin Hurmuz Al-A'raj heard Abu Hurairah رضی اللہ عنہ say:
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَرْوَانَ الْعُثْمَانِيُّ، مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ هُرْمُزَ الأَعْرَجِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، يَقُولُ وَاللَّهِ لَوْلاَ آيَتَانِ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى مَا حَدَّثْتُ عَنْهُ - يَعْنِي عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ - شَيْئًا أَبَدًا لَوْلاَ قَوْلُ اللَّهِ {إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَكْتُمُونَ مَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ مِنَ الْكِتَابِ} إِلَى آخِرِ الآيَتَيْنِ ( سورة البقرة: 174-175 ) .

By Allah, were it not for two Verses in the Book of Allah, I would never have narrated anything from him, meaning from the Prophet, were it not for the Words of Allah: Verily, those who conceal what Allah has sent down of the Book, and purchase a small gain therewith (of worldly things), they eat into their bellies nothing but fire. Allah will not speak to them on the Day of Resurrection, nor purify them, and theirs will be a painful torment. Those are they who have purchased error at the price of guidance, and torment at the price of forgiveness. So how bold they are (for evil deeds which will push them) to the Fire.'

اللہ کی قسم! اگر قرآن کریم کی دو آیتیں نہ ہوتیں تو میں نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے کبھی بھی کوئی نہ حدیث بیان کرتا، اور دو آیتیں یہ ہیں: «إن الذين يكتمون ما أنزل الله من الكتاب» إلى آخر الآيتين بیشک جو لوگ اللہ کی اتاری ہوئی کتاب کو چھپاتے ہیں اور اس کے بدلہ میں معمولی قیمت لیتے ہیں، وہ اپنے پیٹ میں جہنم کی آگ بھر رہے ہیں، قیامت کے دن اللہ نہ تو ان سے بات کرے گا اور نہ ہی ان کو معاف کرے گا، اور ان کو سخت عذاب پہنچے گا، یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جنہوں نے گمراہی کو ہدایت کے بدلے خرید لیا اور عذاب کو مغفرت کے بدلے، پس وہ کیا ہی صبر کرنے والے ہیں جہنم پر ( سورة البقرة: 174-175 ) ۔
A woman asked Aishah رضی اللہ عنہا : should a menstruating woman complete the prayer abandoned during the period of menses? Aishah said: Are you a Haruriyyah? During menstruation in the time of the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم we would not complete (the abandoned prayers), nor were we commanded to complete them.

ایک عورت نے ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے پوچھا: کیا حائضہ نماز کی قضاء کرے گی؟ تو اس پر آپ نے کہا: کیا تو حروریہ ہے ۱؎؟ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی موجودگی میں ہمیں حیض آتا تھا تو ہم نماز کی قضاء نہیں کرتے تھے اور نہ ہی ہمیں قضاء کا حکم دیا جاتا تھا۔
The Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) observed: Avoid the seven noxious things. It was said (by the hearers): What are they, Messenger of Allah? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: Associating anything with Allah, magic, killing of one whom God has declared inviolate without a just cause, consuming the property of an orphan, and consuming of usury, turning back when the army advances, and slandering chaste women who are believers, but unwary.

رسو ل اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا : ’’ سات تباہ کن گناہوں سے بچو ۔ ‘ ‘ پوچھا گیا : اے اللہ کے رسول! وہ کون سے ہیں ؟ فرمایا : ’’ اللہ کے ساتھ شرک ، جادو ، جس جان کا قتل اللہ نے حرام ٹھہرایا ہے اسے ناحق قتل کرنا ، یتیم کا مال کھانا ، سود کھانا ، لڑائی کے دن دشمن کو پشت دکھانا ( بھاگ جانا ) اور پاک دامن ، بے خبر مومن عورتوں پر الزام تراشی کرنا ۔ ‘ ‘
