It was narrated from 'Aishah that a woman asked the Prophet (ﷺ) about performing Ghusl following menstruation and he told her how to perform Ghusl. Then he said: Take a piece of cloth perfumed with musk and purify yourself with it. She said: How should I purify myself with it? He covered his face then said: Subhan Allah! Purify yourself with it. 'Aishah said: I took the woman aside and said: 'Wipe away the traces of blood with it.'

ایک عورت نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے حیض کے غسل کے متعلق پوچھا، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اسے بتایا کہ وہ کیسے غسل کرے، پھر فرمایا: ( غسل کے بعد ) مشک لگا ہوا ( روئی کا ) ایک پھاہا لے کر اس سے طہارت حاصل کرو ، ( عورت بولی ) اس سے کیسے طہارت حاصل کروں؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس طرح پردہ کر لیا ( یعنی شرم سے اپنے منہ پر ہاتھ کی آڑ کر لی ) پھر فرمایا: سبحان اللہ! اس سے پاکی حاصل کرو ، ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں: تو میں نے عورت کو پکڑ کر کھینچ لیا، اور ( چپکے سے اس کے کان میں ) کہا: اسے خون کے نشان پر پھیرو ۱؎۔
The Messenger of Allah said: Whoever seeks knowledge in order to argue with the foolish, or to show off before the scholars, or to attract people's attention, will be in Hell.

نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جس شخص نے علم سیکھا تاکہ بے وقوفوں سے بحث و مباحثہ کرے، یا علماء پر فخر کرے، یا لوگوں کو اپنی جانب مائل کرے، تو وہ جہنم میں ہو گا ۔
When any of us was sexually defiled, she took three handfuls (of water) in this way, that is to say, with both hands together and poured (water) over her head. She took one handful (of water) and threw it on one side and the other on the other side.

ہم ( ازواج مطہرات ) میں سے جب کسی کو غسل جنابت کی ضرورت ہوتی تو وہ تین لپ پانی اس طرح لیتی یعنی اپنی دونوں ہتھیلیوں کو ایک ساتھ کر کے، پھر اسے اپنے سر پر ڈالتی اور ایک ہاتھ سے پانی لیتی تو ایک جانب ڈالتی اور دوسرے سے لے کر دوسری جانب ڈالتی۔
I said: Messenger of Allah, which of the deeds (takes one) nearer to Paradise? He (the Holy Prophet) replied: Prayer at its proper time, I said: What next, Messenger of Allah? He replied: Kindness to the parents. I said: What next? He replied: Jihad in the cause of Allah.

میں نے پوچھا : اے اللہ کے نبی !کون سا عمل جنت سے زیادہ قریب ( کردیتا ) ہے ؟ فرمایا : ’’نمازیں اپنے اپنے اوقات پر پڑھنا ۔ ‘ ‘ میں نے پوچھا : اے اللہ کے نبی ! اور کیا ؟ فرمایا : ’’ والدین کے ساتھ حسن سلوک کرنا ۔ ‘ ‘ میں نے پوچھا : اے اللہ کے نبی ! اور کیا ؟ فرمایا : ’’ اللہ کی راہ میں جہاد کرنا ۔ ‘ ‘
The Prophet said: Do not seek knowledge in order to show off in front of the scholars, or to argue with the foolish, and do not choose the best seat in a gathering, due to it (i.e. the knowledge which you have learned) for whoever does that, the Fire, the Fire (awaits him).

We took a bath while having an adhesive substance over us (our head) in both states, namely, when wearing a robe for Hajj (ihram) and when wearing ordinary clothes (not meant for Hajj).

He said: The owner of this house told me that he asked the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ): Which of the deeds are liked by Allah? He (the Holy Prophet) observed: Prayer at its proper time. I (again) said: What next? He replied: Then goodness to the parents. I (again) said: What then? He replied: Then Jihad in the cause of Allah. He ('Abdullah) said: This is what I was told (by the Holy Prophet). Had I questioned further, he would have made additions for me.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: My maternal aunt Maimunah told me: 'I brought the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) water for his Ghusl from Janabah, and he washed his hands two or three times, then he put his right hand in the vessel and poured water over his private part, then he washed it with his left hand. Then he put his left hand on the ground and rubbed it hard. Then he performed Wudu' as for prayer,then poured three scoops with his two hands full of water over his head, then he washed his entire body, then he moved away from where he had been standing and washed his feet.' She said: 'Then I brought him a towel but he refused it.'

میری خالہ ام المؤمنین میمونہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے مجھ سے بیان کیا کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے لیے غسل جنابت کا پانی لا کر رکھا، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے دو یا تین بار اپنے دونوں پہونچے دھوئے، پھر اپنا داہنا ہاتھ برتن میں داخل کیا تو اس سے اپنی شرمگاہ پر پانی ڈالا، پھر اسے اپنے بائیں ہاتھ سے دھویا، پھر اپنے بائیں ہاتھ کو زمین پر مارا اور اسے زور سے ملا، پھر اپنی نماز کے وضو کی طرح وضو کیا، پھر اپنے سر پر تین لپ بھربھر کر ڈالا، پھر اپنے پورے جسم کو دھویا، پھر آپ اپنی جگہ سے الگ ہٹ کر اپنے دونوں پاؤں دھوئے، ام المؤمنین میمونہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں: پھر میں تولیہ لے کر آئی تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اسے واپس کر دیا۔
The Prophet said: There will be some people among my Ummah (nation) who will gain knowledge of the religion, and they will recite Qur'an, and will say: 'We come to the rulers so that we may have some share of their worldly wealth, and we will make sure that our religious commitment is not affected,' but that will not be the case. Just as nothing can be harvested from the Qatad except thorns, so nothing can be gained from being close to them except (sins).' (Da'if)(One of the narrators) Muhammed bin As-Sabbah said: It is as if he meant, 'except sins'.

نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: بیشک میری امت کے کچھ لوگ دین کا علم حاصل کریں گے، قرآن پڑھیں گے، اور کہیں گے کہ ہم امراء و حکام کے پاس چلیں اور ان کی دنیا سے کچھ حصہ حاصل کریں، پھر ہم اپنے دین کے ساتھ ان سے الگ ہو جائیں گے، ( آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ) یہ بات ہونے والی نہیں ہے، جس طرح کانٹے دار درخت سے کانٹا ہی چنا جا سکتا ہے، اسی طرح ان کی قربت سے صرف... چنا جا سکتا ہے ۔ محمد بن صباح راوی نے کہا: گویا آپ نے ( گناہ ) مراد لیا۔
They asked the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم about it. He (the Prophet) replied: As regards man, he should undo the hair of his head and wash it until the water should reach the roots of the hair. But there is no harm if the woman does not undo it (her hair) and pour three handfuls of water over her head.

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that the Prophet (ﷺ) performed Ghusl and a cloth was brought to him, but he did not touch it, and he started doing like this with the water. [1] [1] This is a demonstration of his wiping off the water on his body with his hands.

The Messenger of Allah said: 'Seek refuge with Allah from the pit of grief.' They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what is the pit of grief?' He said: 'A valley in Hell from which Hell itself seeks refuge four hundred times each day.' It was said: 'O Messenger of Allah, who will enter it?' He said: 'It has been prepared for reciters of the Qur'an who want to show off their deeds. The most hateful of reciters of the Qur'an to Allah are those who visit the rulers.' رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: «جب الحزن» سے اللہ کی پناہ مانگو ، لوگوں نے پوچھا: اللہ کے رسول! «جب الحزن» کیا ہے؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جہنم میں ایک وادی ہے جس سے جہنم ہر روز چار سو مرتبہ پناہ مانگتی ہے ، لوگوں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! اس میں کون لوگ داخل ہوں گے؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اسے ان قراء کے لیے تیار کیا گیا ہے جو اپنے اعمال میں ریاکاری کرتے ہیں، اور اللہ تعالیٰ کے نزدیک بدترین قاری وہ ہیں جو مالداروں کا چکر کاٹتے ہیں ۔ محاربی کہتے ہیں: امراء سے مراد ظالم حکمران ہیں۔
The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم used to wash his head with marsh-mallow while he was sexually defiled. It was sufficient for him and he did not pour water upon it.

It was narrated that 'Aishah said: If the Prophet (ﷺ) - (one of the narrators) 'Amr said: If the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) - wanted to eat or sleep while he was Junub, he would perform Wudu'. In his narration, 'Amr (one of the narrators) added: Wudu' was for prayer.

If the people of knowledge had taken care of it and presented it only to those who cared for it, they would have become the leaders of their age by virtue of that. But they squandered it on the people of wealth and status in this world in order to gain some worldly benefit, so the people of wealth and status began to look down on them. I heard your Prophet say: 'Whoever focuses all his concerns on one issue, the concerns of the Hereafter, Allah will suffice him and spare him the worries of this world. But whoever wanders off in concern over different worldly issues, Allah will not care in which of these valleys he is destroyed.' (Da'if) Another chain with similar wording.

اگر اہل علم علم کی حفاظت کرتے، اور اس کو اس کے اہل ہی کے پاس رکھتے تو وہ اپنے زمانہ والوں کے سردار ہوتے، لیکن ان لوگوں نے دنیا طلبی کے لیے اہل دنیا پر علم کو نچھاور کیا، تو ان کی نگاہوں میں ذلیل ہو گئے، میں نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا: جس نے اپنی تمام تر سوچوں کو ایک سوچ یعنی آخرت کی سوچ بنا لیا، تو اللہ تعالیٰ اس کے دنیاوی غموں کے لیے کافی ہو گا، اور جس کی تمام تر سوچیں دنیاوی احوال میں پریشان رہیں، تو اللہ تعالیٰ کو کچھ پرواہ نہیں کہ وہ کس وادی میں ہلاک ہو جائے ۔
On being asked about (washing) the fluid that flows between man and woman. The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم used to take a handful of water and pour it on the fluid. Again, he would take a handful of water and pour it over the fluid.

وہ مرد اور عورت کے ملاپ سے نکلنے والی منی کے متعلق کہتی ہیں: ( اگر وہ کپڑے یا جسم پر لگ جاتی تو ) رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ایک چلو پانی لے کر لگی ہوئی منی پر ڈالتے، پھر ایک اور چلو پانی لیتے، اور اسے بھی اس پر ڈال لیتے۔
I asked the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ): Which sin is the gravest in the eye of Allah? He (the Holy Prophet ﷺ) replied: That you associate a partner with Allah (despite the fact) that He has created you. He (the reporter) said: I told him (the, Holy Prophet ﷺ): Verily it is indeed grave. He (the reporter) said: I asked him what the next (gravest sin) was. He (the Holy Prophet) replied: That you kill your child out of fear that he shall join you in food. He (the reporter) said: I asked (him) what the next (gravest sin) was. He (the Holy Prophet ﷺ) observed: Then (the next gravest sin) is that you commit adultery with the wife of your neighbour.

میں نے رسول اللہ ﷺ سے پوچھا : ’’اللہ کے ہاں سب سے بڑا گناہ کون سا ہے ؟ آپ نے فرمایا : ’’ یہ کہ تم اللہ کے ساتھ کسی کو شریک بناؤ جبکہ تمہیں اسی ( اللہ ) نے پیدا کیا ہے ۔ ‘ ‘ میں نے عرض کی : واقعی یہ بہت بڑا ( گناہ ) ہے ، کہا : میں نے پوچھا : پھر کون سا ؟ فرمایا : ’’یہ کہ تم اس ڈر سے اپنے بچے کو قتل کرو کہ وہ تمہارے ساتھ کھائے گا ۔ ‘ ‘ کہا : میں نے پوچھا : پھر کون سا ؟ فرمایا : ’’ پھر یہ کہ اپنے پڑوسی کی بیوی کے ساتھ زنا کرو ۔ ‘ ‘
