The Book of Menstruation and Istihadah • Hadith 375

Jumai' bin 'Umair said: I entered upon 'Aishah with my mother and maternal aunt, and we asked her what the Prophet (ﷺ) used to do when one of (his wives) was menstruating. She said: He would tell us, when when of us menstruated, to wrap a wide Izar around herself then he would embrace her chest and breasts.

میں اپنی ماں اور خالہ کے ساتھ ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کے پاس آیا، تو ان دونوں نے عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے پوچھا: جب آپ میں سے کوئی حائضہ ہو جاتی تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کیسے کرتے تھے؟ کہا: جب ہم میں سے کوئی حائضہ ہو جاتی تو آپ ہمیں کشادہ تہبند باندھنے کا حکم دیتے، پھر آپ اس کے سینہ اور چھاتی سے چمٹتے۔
