The Book of Menstruation and Istihadah • Hadith 350

It was narrated from Fatimah bint Qais from Banu Asad Quraish that she came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and mentioned that she suffered from Istihadah. She said that he said to her: That is a vein, so when the time of menstruation comes, stop praying, and when it goes, take your bath and wash the blood from yourself then pray.

فاطمہ بنت قیس رضی اللہ عنہا جو قریش کی شاخ قبیلہ بنو اسد کی ایک خاتون ہیں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آئیں، اور ذکر کیا کہ انہیں استحاضہ آتا ہے، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان سے فرمایا:  یہ تو ایک رگ ہے، تو جب حیض آئے تو نماز ترک کر دو، اور جب وہ ختم ہو جائے تو تو غسل کر لو، اور اپنے  ( بدن سے )  خون دھو لو پھر نماز پڑھو ۔
