The woman who has a prolonged flow of blood should wash herself every day when her menstrual period is over and take a woollen cloth greased with fat or oil (to tie over the private parts).

He pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) under the Tree, and verily the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) observed: He who took an oath of a religion other than Islam, in the state of being a liar, would became so, as he professed. He who killed himself with a thing would be tormented on the Day of Resurrection with that very thing. One is not obliged to offer votive offering of a thing which is not in his possession.

آپﷺ نے فرمایا : ’’ جس شخص نے اسلام کے علاوہ کسی اور مذہب پر ہونے کی پختہ قسم کھائی اور ( جس بات پر اس نے قسم کھائی اس میں ) وہ جھوٹا تھا تو وہ ویسا ہی ہے جیسا اس نے کہا ( اس کاعمل ویسا ہی ہے ۔ ) او رجس نے اپنے آپ کو کسی چیز سے قتل کیا قیامت کے دن اس کو اسی چیز سے عذاب دیا جائے گا ۔ اور کسی شخص پر اس چیز کی نذر پوری کرنا لازم نہیں جس کا وہ مالک نہیں ۔ ‘ ‘
Narrator: ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ

Al-Qasim bin Muhammad about the woman who has a prolonged flow of blood. He replied: She should abandon prayer during her menstrual period, then wash and pray ; then she should wash during her menstrual period.

Narrator: مجھ سے ابو غسان المسمعی نے بیان کیا، معاذ نے جو ابن ہشام دستوائی نے یحییٰ بن ابی کثیر سے سابقہ سند کے ساتھ حدیث سنائی کہ حضرت ثابت بن ضحاک رضی اللہ عنہ نے نبی ﷺ سے روایت کی کہ
It is narrated on the authority of Thabit b. al-Dahhak that the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) observes: None is obliged to give votive offering (of a thing) which is not in his possession and the cursing of a believer is tantamount to killing him, and he who killed himself with a thing in this world would be tormented with that (very thing) on the Day of Resurrection, and he who made a false claim to increase (his wealth), Allah would make no addition but that of paucity, and he who perjured would earn the wrath of God

آپ نے فرمایا : ’’ جس چیز کا انسان مالک نہیں ہے ، اس کےبارے میں ( مانی ہوئی ) نذر اس کے ذمے نہیں ہے ۔ مومن پر لعنت بھیجنا ( گناہ کے اعتبار سے ) اس کے قتل کے مترادف ہے اور جس نے کسی چیز سے اپنے آپ کو قتل کیا ، قیامت کے دن اسی چیز سے اس کو عذاب دیا جائے گا ، اور جس نے ( مال میں ) اضافے کے لیے جھوٹا دعویٰ کیا ، اللہ تعالیٰ اس ( کے مال ) کی قلت ہی میں اضافہ کرے گا اور جس نے ایسی قسم جو فیصلے کے لیے ناگزیر ہو ، جھوٹی کھائی ( اس کا بھی یہی حال ہو گا ۔ ) ‘ ‘
It was narrated from Umm Qais bin Mihsan that she brought a small son of hers who has not started eating food to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) took him in his lap and he urinated on his garment, so he called for some water and sprinkled it on it, but he did not wash it.

The Fatimah daughter of Abu Hubaish had a prolonged flow of blood. The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said to her: When the blood of menses comes, it is black blood with can be recognized; so when that comes, refrain from prayer, but when a different type comes, perform ablution and pray. Abu Dawud said: Ibn al-Muthanna said: Ibn Adi narrated this tradition from his memory on the authority of Urwah from Aishah. Abu Dawud said: This tradition has also been transmitted by al-'Ala bin al-Musayyab and Shubah from al-Hakam on the authority of Abu Jafar. Al-'Ala reported it as a statement of the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم, and Shubah as a statement of Abu Jafar, saying: She should perform ablution for every prayer.

انہیں استحاضہ کی شکایت تھی تو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان سے فرمایا: جب حیض کا خون ہو ( جو کہ بالکل سیاہ ہوتا ہے اور پہچان لیا جاتا ہے ) تو تم نماز سے رک جاؤ اور جب دوسری طرح کا خون آنے لگے تو وضو کرو اور نماز پڑھو ۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں کہ ابن مثنی نے کہا ہے کہ ابن ابی عدی نے اسے ہم سے زبانی بیان کیا تو اس میں انہوں نے «عن عروة عن عائشة أن فاطمة» کہا۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: نیز یہ حدیث علاء بن مسیب اور شعبہ سے مروی ہے انہوں نے حکم سے اور حکم نے ابو جعفر سے روایت کیا ہے مگر علاء نے اسے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے مرفوعاً اور شعبہ نے ابو جعفر سے موقوفاً بیان کیا ہے، اس میں یہ ہے کہ وہ ہر نماز کے لیے وضو کرے۔
The Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) observed: He who took deliberately a false oath on a religion other than Islam would become that which he had professed. And he who killed himself with anything Allah would torment him with that in the Fire of Hell.

نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا : ’’جس نے جان بوجھ کر اسلام کے سوا کسی اور ملت میں ہونے کی جھوٹی قسم کھائی تو وہ اپنے قول کے مطابق ( اسی مذہب سے ) ہو گا اور جس نے اپنے آپ کو کسی چیز سے قتل کیا ، اللہ اس کو جہنم کی آگ میں اسی چیز سے عذاب دے گا ۔ ‘ ‘ یہ سفیان کی بیان کردہ حدیث ہے ۔ اور شعبہ کی روایت یوں ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا : ’’ جس نے اسلام کے سوا کسی اور ملت میں ہونے کی جھوٹی قسم کھائی ( اس روایت میں ’’جان بوجھ کر ‘ ‘ کے الفاظ نہیں ) تو وہ اسی طرح ہے جس طرح اس نے کہا ہے اور جس نے اپنے آپ کو کسی چیز سے ذبح کر ڈالا ، اسے قیامت کے دن اسی چیز سے ذبح کیا جائے گا ۔ ‘ ‘
It was narrated that 'Aishah said: A small boy was brought to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and he urinated on him, so he called for water and poured it on the place where the urine was.

Umm Habibah daughter of Jahsh رضی اللہ عنہا had a prolonged flow of blood. The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم commanded her to refrain (from prayer) during her menstrual period; then she should wash and pray, if she sees anything (which renders ablution void) she should perform ablution and pray.

ہیں کہ ام حبیبہ بنت جحش رضی اللہ عنہا کو استحاضہ ہو گیا تو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے انہیں حکم دیا کہ وہ اپنے ایام حیض ( کے ختم ہونے ) کا انتظار کریں پھر غسل کریں اور نماز پڑھیں، پھر اگر اس میں سے کچھ ۱؎ انہیں محسوس ہو تو وضو کر لیں اور نماز پڑھیں۔
"We were present at (the battle of) Hunain with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he said of a man who claimed to be a Muslim: 'This is one of the people of the fire.' When the fighting began, that man fought fiercely, then he was wounded and it was said: 'O Messenger of Allah, the man of whom you said that he is one of the people of fire fought fiercely today, and he has died.' The Messenger of Allah said: 'To the fire.' Some of the Muslims could hardly believe it, and while they were like that, it was said: 'He has not died, but he is badly wounded.' That night, he could no longer bear the pain, so he killed himself. The prophet ﷺ was informed of that and he said: 'Allah Akbar! I bear witness that I am the Allah's slave and His Messenger.' Then he ordered Bilal to call out to the people: No one will enter Paradise but a Muslim soul, and Allah will support this religion even by means of an evildoer."

ہم رسول اللہ ﷺ کی معیت میں جنگ حنین میں شریک ہوئے تو آپﷺ نے ایک آدمی کے بارے میں ، جسے مسلمان کہا جاتا تھا ، فرمایا : ’’ یہ جہنمیوں میں سے ہے ۔ ‘ ‘ جب ہم لڑائی میں گئے تو اس آدمی نے بڑی زور دار جنگ لڑی جس کی وجہ سے اسے زخم لگ گئے اس پر آپ کی خدمت میں عرض کی گئی : اے اللہ کے رسول ! و ہ آدمی جس کے بارے میں آپ نے ابھی فرمایا تھا : ’’ وہ جہنمیوں میں سے ہے ‘ ‘ اس نے تو آج بڑی شدید جنگ لڑی ہے اور وہ مرچکا ہے تو رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا : ’’ آگ کی طرف ( جائے گا ۔ ) ‘ ‘ بعض مسلمان آپ کے اس فرمان کو بارے میں شک و شبہ میں مبتلا ہونے لگے ، ( کہ ایسا جانثار کیسے دوزخی ہو سکتا ہے ۔ ) لوگ اسی حالت میں تھے کہ بتایا گیا : وہ مرانہیں ہے لیکن اسے شدید زخم لگےہیں ۔ جب رات پڑی تو وہ ( اپنے ) زخموں پر صبر نہ کر سکا ، اس نے خود کشی کر لی ۔ آپ اس کی اطلا دی گئی تو آپ نے فرمایا : ’’ اللہ سب سے بڑا ہے ، میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ میں اللہ کا بندہ اور اس کا رسول ہوں - ‘ ‘ پھر آپ نے بلال رضی اللہ عنہ کو حکم دیاتو انہوں نے لوگوں میں اعلان کیا : ’’ یقیناً اس جان کے سوا کوئی جنت میں داخل نہ ہو گا جو اسلام پر ہے اور بلاشبہ اللہ برے لوگوں سے بھی اس دین کی تائید کراتا ہے ۔ ‘ ‘

There was an encounter between the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) and the polytheists, and they fought (against one another). At the conclusion of the battle the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) bent his steps towards his army and they (the enemies) bent their steps towards their army. And there was a person (his name was Quzman and he was one of the hypocrites) among the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) who did not spare a detached (fighter of the enemy) but pursued and killed him with the sword. They (the Companions of the Holy Prophet) said: None served us better today than this man Upon this the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) remarked: Verily he is one of the denizens of Fire. One of the people (Muslims) said: I will constantly shadow him. Then this man went out along with him. He halted whenever he halted, and ran along with him whenever he ran. He (the narrator) said: The man was seriously injured. He (could not stand the pain) and hastened his own death. He placed the blade of the sword on the ground with the tip between his chest and then pressed himself against the sword and killed himself. Then the man (following him) went to the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) and said: I bear testimony that verily thou art the Messenger of Allah, He (the Holy Prophet) said: What is the matter? He replied: The person about whom you just mentioned that he was one among the denizens of Fire and the people were surprised (at this) and I said to them that I would bring (the news about him) and consequently I went out in search of him till I (found him) to be very seriously injured. He hastened his death. He placed the blade of the sword upon the ground and its tip between his chest and then pressed himself against that and killed himself. Thereupon the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) remarked: A person performs the deeds which to the people appear to be the deeds befitting the dweller of Paradise, but he is in fact one of the denizens of Hell. And verily a person does an act which in the eyes of public is one which is done by the denizens of Hell, but the person is one among the dwellers of Paradise.

رسول اللہ ﷺ اور مشرکوں کا آمنا سامنا ہوا اور جنگ شروع ہو گئی ، پھر رسول اللہ ﷺ اپنی لشکر گاہ کی طرف پلٹے او ر فریق ثانی اپنی لشکر گاہ کی طرف مڑا ۔ رسو ل اللہ ﷺ کا ساتھ دینے والوں میں سےایک آدمی تھا جودشمنوں ( کی صفوں ) سے الگ رہ جانے والوں کو نہ چھوڑتا ، ان کا تعاقب کرتا اور انہیں اپنی تلوار کا نشانہ بنا دیتا ، لوگوں نے کہا : آج ہم نے میں سے فلاں نے جو کردکھایا کسی اور نے نہیں کیا ، اس پر رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا : ’’ لیکن واقعہ یہ ہے کہ یہ شخص اہل جہنم میں سے ہے ۔ ‘ ‘ لوگوں میں سے ایک آدمی کہنے لگا : میں مستقل طور پر اس کے ساتھ رہوں گا ۔ سہل رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا : وہ آدمی اس کے ہمراہ نکلا ۔ جہاں وہ ٹھہرتا وہیں یہ ٹھہر جاتا اور جب وہ اپنی رفتار تیز کرتا تو اس کے ساتھ یہ بھی تیز چل پڑتا ۔ ( آخر کار ) وہ آدمی شدید زخمی ہو گیا ، اس نے جلد مر جانا چاہا تو اس نے اپنی تلوار کا اوپر کا حصہ ( تلوار کا دستہ ) زمیں پر رکھا اور اس کی دھار اپنی چھاتی کے درمیان رکھی ، پھر اپنی تلوار سے اپنا پورا وزن ڈال کر خودکشی کر لی ۔ وہ ( پیچھا کرنے والا ) آدمی رسول اللہ ﷺ کے پاس آیا اور عرض کی : میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ آپ اللہ کے رسول ہیں ۔ آپ نے پوچھا : ’’ کیا ہوا ؟ ‘ ‘ تو اس نے کہا ، وہ آدمی جس کے بارے میں آپ نے ابھی بتایا تھا کہ و ہ دوزخی ہے اور لوگوں سے اسے غیر معمولی بات سمجھا تھا ۔ اس پر میں نے ( لوگوں سے ) کہا : میں تمہارے لیے اس کا پتہ لگاؤں لگا ۔ میں اس کے پیچھے نکلا یہاں تک کہ وہ شدید زخمی ہو گیا اور اس نے جلدی مر جانا چاہا تو اس نے اپنی تلوار کا اوپر کا حصہ ( دستہ ) زمین پر اور اس کی دھار چھاتی کے درمیان رکھی ، پھر اس پر اپنا پورا بوجھ ڈال دیا اور خود کو مار ڈالا ۔ اس پر رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا : ’’ لوگوں کو نظر آتا ہے کہ کوئی آدمی جنتیون کے سے کام کرتا ہے ، حالانکہ وہ دوزخی ہوتا ہے اور لوگوں کو نظر آتا ہے کہ کوئی آدمی دوزخیوں کے سے کام کرتا ہے حالانکہ ( انجام کار ) وہ جنتی ہوتا ہے ۔ ‘ ‘
It was narrated that Anas bin Malik narrated that some people from 'Ukl came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and spoke about Islam. They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, we are nomads who follows the herds, not farmers and growers, and the climate of Al-Madinah does not suit us.' So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)told them to go out to a flock of female camels and drink their milk and urine. When they recovered - and they were in the vicinity of Al-Harrah - they apostatized after having become Muslim, killed the camel-herder of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and drove the camels away. News of that reached the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and he sent people after them. They were brought back, their eyes were smoldered with heated nails, their hands and feet cut off, then they were left in Al-Harrah in that state until they died.

قبیلہ عکل کے کچھ لوگ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے، اور اپنے اسلام لانے کی بات کی، اور کہنے لگے: اللہ کے رسول! ہم لوگ مویشی والے ہیں ( جن کا گزارہ دودھ پر ہوتا ہے ) ہم کھیتی باڑی والے نہیں ہیں، مدینہ کی آب و ہوا انہیں راس نہیں آئی، تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے حکم دیا کہ انہیں کچھ اونٹ اور ایک چرواہا دے دیا جائے، اور ان سے کہا کہ وہ جا کر مدینہ سے باہر رہیں، اور ان جانوروں کے دودھ اور پیشاب پئیں۱؎ چنانچہ وہ باہر جا کر حرّہ کے ایک گوشے میں رہنے لگے جب اچھے اور صحت یاب ہو گئے، تو اپنے اسلام لے آنے کے بعد کافر ہو گئے، اور نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے چرواہے کو قتل کر دیا، اور اونٹوں کو ہانک لے گئے، نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو اس کی خبر ہوئی تو آپ نے تعاقب کرنے والوں کو ان کے پیچھے بھیجا ( چنانچہ وہ پکڑ لیے گئے اور ) آپ کے پاس لائے گئے، تو لوگوں نے ان کی آنکھوں میں آگ کی سلائی پھیر دی ۲؎، اور ان کے ہاتھ اور پاؤں کاٹ دئیے، پھر اسی حال میں انہیں ( مقام ) حرہ میں چھوڑ دیا گیا یہاں تک کہ وہ سب مر گئے۔
Umm Atiyyah رضی اللہ عنہا who took an oath of allegiance to the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: We would not take into consideration brown and yellow (fluid) after purification.

ام عطیہ رضی اللہ عنہا (انہوں نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے بیعت کی تھی) کہتی ہیں , ہم حیض سے پاک ہو جانے کے بعد زردی اور گدلے پن کو کچھ نہیں سمجھتے تھے۔
A person belonging to the people of the past suffered from a boil, when it pained him, he drew out an arrow from the quiver and pierced it. And the bleeding did not stop till he died. Your Lord said: I forbade his entrance into Paradise. Then he (Hasan) stretched his hand towards the mosque and said: By God, Jundab رضی اللہ عنہ transmitted this hadith to me from the Messenger of Allah ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) in this very mosque.

’’ تم سے پہلے لوگوں میں سے ایک آدمی تھا ، اسے پھوڑا نکلا ، جب اس نے اسے اذیت دی تو اس نے اپنے ترکش سے ایک تیر نکالا او راس پھوڑے کو چیر دیا ، خون بند نہ ہو ا ، حتی کہ وہ مر گیا ۔ اللہ تعالیٰ نے فرمایا : میں نے اس پر جنت حرام کر دی ہے ۔ ‘ ‘ ( کیونکہ اس نے خودکشی کےلیے ایسا کیا تھا ۔ ) پھر حسن نے مسجد کی طرف سے اپناہاتھ اونچا کیا او رکہا : ہاں ، اللہ کی قسم ! یہ حدیث مجھے جندب رضی اللہ عنہ نے رسو ل اللہ ﷺ سے ( روایت کرتے ہوئے ) اسی مسجد میں سنائی تھی ۔
It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that some Bedouins from 'Urainah came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and became Muslims, but the climate of Al-Madinah did not suit them; their skin turned yellow and their stomachs became swollen. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sent them to some pregnant camels of his and told them to drink their milk and urine until they recovered. Then they killed the camel-herder and drove the camels away. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sent people after then and they were brought back. their hands and feet were cut off and their eyes were smoldered with burning nails. The Commander of the Believers, 'Abdul-Malik, said to Anas - when he was narrating this Hadith to him - (Were they being punished) for Kufr or for a sin? He said: For Kufr.

نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں قبیلہ عرینہ کے کچھ اعرابی ( دیہاتی ) آئے، اور انہوں نے اسلام قبول کر لیا، لیکن مدینہ کی آب و ہوا انہیں راس نہیں آئی، یہاں تک کہ ان کے رنگ زرد ہو گئے، اور پیٹ پھول گئے، تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے انہیں اپنی اونٹنیوں کے پاس بھیج دیا ۱؎ اور انہیں حکم دیا کہ وہ ان کے دودھ اور پیشاب پئیں، یہاں تک کہ وہ صحت یاب ہو گئے، تو ان لوگوں نے آپ کے چرواہے کو قتل کر ڈالا، اور اونٹوں کو ہانک لے گئے، تو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے کچھ لوگوں کو ان کے تعاقب میں بھیجا، چنانچہ انہیں پکڑ کر آپ کی خدمت میں لایا گیا، تو آپ نے ان کے ہاتھ پاؤں کاٹ دیئے، اور ان کی آنکھوں میں گرم سلائی پھیر دی۔
