It was narrated that Musa Al-Juhani said: A vessel was brought to Mujahid, which I estimated to be eight Ratls, and he said: 'Aishah told me that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to perform Ghusl using such a vessel.'

The Messenger of Allah said: 'You must acquire this knowledge before it is taken away, and its taking away means that it will be lifted up.' He joined his middle finger and the one that next to the thumb like this, and said: 'The scholar and the seeker of knowledge will share the reward, and there is no good in the rest of the people.'

The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم would sleep while he was sexually defiled without touching water. Abu Dawud said: Hasan bin Ali al-Wasiti said that the heard Yazid bin Harun say: This tradition is based on a misunderstanding, i. e. the tradition reported by Abu Ishaq.

The slave who fled from his master committed an act of infidelity as long as he would not return to him. Mansur observed: By God, this hadith was narrated from the Apostle (may peace and blessings be upon him), but I do not like that this should be narrated on my authority here in Basra.

’’ جو غلام اپنے مالکوں سے بھاگ گیا ، اس نےکفر کا ارتکاب کیا یہاں تک کہ ان کی طرف لوٹ آئے ۔ ‘ ‘ ( نہ یہ کہ دوبارہ مسلمان ہو ۔ ) منصور نے کہا : اللہ کی قسم ! یہ حدیث نبی اکرمﷺ سے روایت کی گئی ہے لیکن میں ناپسند کرتا ہوں کہ یہاں ( بصرہ میں ) مجھ سےیہ ( اس طرح مرفوعاً ) روایت کی جائے ۔ ( کیونکہ بصرہ کےخارجی اس سے مطلق کفر کا استدلال کریں گے ۔ )
It was narrated from Abu Bakr bin Hafs: I heard Abu Salamah say: 'I entered upon 'Aishah and her foster-brother was with her. He asked her about the Ghusl of the Prophet (ﷺ). She called for a vessel in which was a Sa' of water, then she concealed herself and performed Ghusl and poured water over her head three times.'

میں ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کے پاس آیا، اور ان کے رضائی بھائی بھی آئے، تو انہوں نے ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے غسل کے متعلق پوچھا؟، تو آپ رضی اللہ عنہا نے ایک برتن منگایا جس میں ایک صاع کے بقدر پانی تھا، پھر ایک پردہ ڈال کر غسل کیا، اور اپنے سر پر تین مرتبہ پانی ڈالا۔
The Messenger of Allah came out of one of his apartments one day and entered the mosque, where he saw two circles, one reciting Qur'an and supplicating to Allah, and the other learning and teaching. The Prophet said: 'Both of them are good. These people are reciting the Qur'an and supplicating to Allah, and if He wills He will give them, and if He wills He will withhold from them. And these people are learning and teaching. Verily I have been sent as a teacher.' Then he sat down with them.

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ایک دن اپنے کسی کمرے سے نکلے اور مسجد میں داخل ہوئے، آپ نے اس میں دو حلقے دیکھے، ایک تلاوت قرآن اور ذکرو دعا میں مشغول تھا، اور دوسرا تعلیم و تعلم میں، نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: دونوں حلقے نیکی کے کام میں ہیں، یہ لوگ قرآن پڑھ رہے ہیں، اور اللہ سے دعا کر رہے ہیں، اگر اللہ تعالیٰ چاہے تو انہیں دے اور چاہے تو نہ دے، اور یہ لوگ علم سیکھنے اور سکھانے میں مشغول ہیں، اور میں تو صرف معلم بنا کر بھیجا گیا ہوں، پھر انہیں کے ساتھ بیٹھ گئے ۔
I, accompanied by other two persons, one from us and the other from Banu Asad, called upon Ali رضی اللہ عنہ . He sent them to a certain territory (on some mission) saying: You are sturdy and vigorous people; hence display your power for religion. He then stood and entered the toilet. He then came out and called for water and took a handful of it. Then he wiped (his hands) with it and began to recite the Quran. They were surprised at this (action). Thereupon he said: The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم came out from the privy and taught us the Quran and took meat with us. Nothing prevented him; or the narrator said: Nothing prevented him from (reciting) the Quran except sexual defilement.

میں اور میرے ساتھ دو آدمی جن میں سے ایک کا تعلق میرے قبیلہ سے تھا اور میرا گمان ہے کہ دوسرا قبیلہ بنو اسد سے تھا، علی رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس آئے، تو آپ نے ان دونوں کو ( عامل بنا کر ) ایک علاقہ میں بھیجا، اور فرمایا: تم دونوں مضبوط لوگ ہو، لہٰذا اپنے دین کی خاطر جدوجہد کرنا، پھر آپ اٹھے اور پاخانہ میں گئے، پھر نکلے اور پانی منگوایا، اور ایک لپ لے کر اس سے ( ہاتھ ) دھویا، پھر قرآن پڑھنے لگے، تو لوگوں کو یہ ناگوار لگا، تو آپ نے کہا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم بیت الخلاء سے نکل کر ہم کو قرآن پڑھاتے، اور ہمارے ساتھ بیٹھ کر گوشت کھاتے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو قرآن ( پڑھنے پڑھانے ) سے جنابت کے علاوہ کوئی چیز نہ روکتی یا مانع نہ ہوتی۔
It was narrated that 'Aishah said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to perform Ghusl from a vessel which was the size of a Faraq [1] and he and I used to perform Ghusl using a single vessel. [1] Sixteen Ratls.

The Messenger of Allah said: May Allah cause his face to shine, the man who hears what I say and conveys it (to others). There are those who have knowledge but no understanding, and there may be those who convey knowledge to those who have more understanding of it than they do.' (One of the narrators) 'Ali bin Muhammed added to it: There are three things because of which hatred does not enter the heart of a Muslim: Sincerity in doing an action for the sake of Allah; being sincere towards the rulers of the Muslims; and adhering to the Jama'ah (main body of the Muslims.

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اللہ اس شخص کو تروتازہ رکھے جس نے میری کوئی حدیث سنی اور اسے دوسروں تک پہنچایا، اس لیے کہ بعض علم رکھنے والے خود فقیہ نہیں ہوتے ہیں، اور بعض علم کو اپنے سے زیادہ فقیہ تک پہنچاتے ہیں ۔ علی بن محمد نے اپنی روایت میں اتنا مزید کہا: تین چیزیں ہیں کہ ان میں کسی مسلمان کا دل خیانت نہیں کرتا، ہر نیک کام محض اللہ کی رضا کے لیے کرنا، مسلمانوں کے اماموں اور سرداروں کی خیر خواہی چاہنا، مسلمانوں کی جماعت کے ساتھ ہمیشہ رہنا، ان سے جدا نہ ہونا ۔
The prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم visited him and inclined towards him (for shaking hand). He said: I am sexually defiled. The prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم replied: A muslim is not defiled.

It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin Jabr said: I heard Anas bin Malik say: 'The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to perform Wudu' with a Makkuk and Ghusl with five Makkuks.'

The Messenger of Allah stood up at Khaif in Mina and said: 'May Allah cause his face to shine, the man who hears what I say and conveys it (to others). رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم منیٰ کی مسجد خیف میں خطبہ دینے کے لیے کھڑے ہوئے، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اللہ اس شخص کو تروتازہ رکھے جس نے میری حدیث سنی اور اسے دوسروں تک پہنچا دیا، اس لیے کہ بہت سے علم دین رکھنے والے فقیہ نہیں ہوتے ہیں، اور بہت سے وہ ہیں جو علم کو اپنے سے زیادہ فقیہ تک پہنچاتے ہیں ۔
The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم met me on one of the streets of Madina while I was sexually defiled. I retreated and went away. I then took a bath and came to him. He asked: Where were you, O Abu Hurairah? I replied: As I was sexually defiled, I disliked to sit in your company without purification. He exclaimed: Glory be to Allah! A Muslim is not defiled. He (Abu Dawud) said: The version of this tradition reported by Bishr has the chain: Humaid reported from Bakr.

مدینہ کے ایک راستے میں مجھ سے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی ملاقات ہو گئی، میں اس وقت جنبی تھا، اس لیے پیچھے ہٹ گیا اور ( وہاں سے ) چلا گیا، پھر غسل کر کے واپس آیا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے پوچھا: ابوہریرہ! تم کہاں ( چلے گئے ) تھے؟ ، میں نے عرض کیا: میں جنبی تھا، اس لیے ناپاکی کی حالت میں آپ کے پاس بیٹھنا مجھے نامناسب معلوم ہوا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: سبحان اللہ! مسلمان نجس نہیں ہوتا ۔اس نے (ابو داؤد) کہا: بشر کی روایت کی روایت میں یہ سلسلہ ہے: حمید نے بکر سے روایت کی ہے۔
The Messenger of Allah (may peace and blessings be upon him) led the morning prayer at Hudaybiya. There were some marks of the rainfall during the night. At the conclusion of prayer he turned towards people and observed: Do you know what your Lord has said? They replied: Allah and His Messenger know best. Upon this he (the Holy Prophet) remarked: He (Allah) said: Some of My bondsmen entered the morning as My believers and some as unbelievers. He who said: We have had a rainfall due to the Blessing and Mercy of Allah, he is My believer and a disbeliever of stars, and who said: We have had a rainfall due to the rising of such and such (star) disbelieved Me and affirmed his faith in the stars.

رسول اللہ ﷺ نے حدیبیہ کے مقام پر رات کو ہونے والی بارش کے بعد ، ہمیں صبح کی نماز پڑھائی ۔ جب آپ نے سلام پھیرا تو لوگوں کی طرف متوجہ ہوئے اور فرمایا : ’’کیا تم جانتے ہو تمہارے رب نے کیا فرمایا؟ ‘ ‘ انہوں نےجواب دیا اللہ اور اس کا رسول بہتر جانتے ہیں ۔ آپ نے فرمایا : ’’ اللہ تعالیٰ نے فرمایا : ( آج ) میرے بندوں میں سے کوئی مجھ پر ایمان لانےو الا اور ( کوئی میرےساتھ ) کفر کرنے والا ہو گیا ۔ جس نے یہ کہا ہے کہ ہم پر اللہ تعالیٰ کےفضل اور رحمت سےبارش ہوئی ہے تو وہ مجھ پر ایمان رکھنے والا اور ستارے کے ساتھ کفر کرنے والا ہے اور جس نے کہا کہ ہم پر فلاں فلاں ستارے ( کےغروب و طلوع ہونے ) کی وجہ سے بارش ہوئی ہے تو وہ میرے ساتھ کفر کرنے والا اور ستارے پر ایمان رکھنے والا ہے.
It was narrated that Abu Ja'far said: We argued about Ghusl in the presence of jabir in 'Abdullah, and Jabir said: 'One Sa' of water is sufficient for ghusl from Janabah.' We said: 'One Sa' is not enough and neither is two.' Jabir said: 'It was sufficient for one who was better than you and had more hair.'

ہم جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہم کے پاس غسل کے سلسلہ میں جھگڑ پڑے، جابر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: غسل جنابت میں ایک صاع پانی کافی ہے، اس پر ہم نے کہا: ایک صاع اور دو صاع کافی نہیں ہو گا، تو جابر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: اس ذات گرامی کو کافی ہوتا تھا ۱؎ جو تم سے زیادہ اچھے، اور زیادہ بالوں والے تھے۔
The Prophet said: May Allah cause his face to shine, the man who hears a Hadith from us and conveys it, for perhaps the one to whom it is conveyed may remember it better than the one who (first) hears it.

نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اللہ تعالیٰ اس شخص کو تروتازہ رکھے جس نے میری کوئی حدیث سنی اور اسے دوسروں تک پہنچا دیا، اس لیے کہ بہت سے وہ لوگ جنہیں حدیث پہنچائی جاتی ہے وہ سننے والوں سے زیادہ ادراک رکھنے والے ہوتے ہیں ۔
The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم came and saw that the doors of the houses of his Companions were facing the mosque. He said: Turn the direction of the houses from the mosque. The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم then entered (the houses or the mosque), and the people did take any step in this regard hoping that some concession might be revealed. He the Prophet) again came upon them and said: Turn the direction of these (doors) from the mosque I do not make the mosque lawful for a menstruating woman and for a person who is sexually defiled. Abu Dawud said: Aflat bin Khalifah is also called Fulait al-Amiri.

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم تشریف لائے اور حال یہ تھا کہ بعض صحابہ کے گھروں کے دروازے مسجد سے لگتے ہوئے کھل رہے تھے ۱؎ تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ان گھروں کے رخ مسجد کی طرف سے پھیر کر دوسری جانب کر لو ، پھر نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ( مسجد میں یا صحابہ کرام کے گھروں میں ) داخل ہوئے اور لوگوں نے ابھی کوئی تبدیلی نہیں کی تھی، اس امید پر کہ شاید ان کے متعلق کوئی رخصت نازل ہو، پھر جب آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم دوبارہ ان کے پاس آئے تو فرمایا: ان گھروں کے رخ مسجد کی طرف سے پھیر لو، کیونکہ میں حائضہ اور جنبی کے لیے مسجد کو حلال نہیں سمجھتا ۔ ابوداؤد نے کہا: افلاط بن خلیفہ کو فلیت العامیری بھی کہا جاتا ہے۔
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Don't you know what your Lord said? He observed: I have never endowed My bondsmen with a favor, but a section amongst them disbelieved it and said: Stars, it was due to the stars.
