Narrator: Kathir bin 'Abdullah bin 'Amr bin 'Awf رضی اللہ عنہ narrated from his father: That his grandfather said:

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي كَثِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْفٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ جَدِّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ رَحِمَ اللَّهُ الْأَنْصَارَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبْنَاءَ الْأَنْصَارِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبْنَاءَ أَبْنَاءِ الْأَنْصَارِ .

The Messenger of Allah said: 'May Allah have mercy on the Ansar, and the children of the Ansar, and the grandchildren of the Ansar.'
