The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم passed by two graves. He said: Both (the dead) are being punished, but they are not being punished for a major (sin). One did not safeguard himself from urine. The other carriedtales. He then called for a fresh twig and split it into two parts and planted one part on each grave and said: Perhaps their punishment may be mitigated as long as the twigs remain fresh. Another version of Hannad has: One of them did not cover himself while urinating. This version does not have the words: He did not safeguard himself from urine.

رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا گزر دو قبروں پر ہوا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ( قبر میں مدفون ) ان دونوں کو عذاب دیا جا رہا ہے اور کسی بڑے گناہ کی وجہ سے نہیں، ان میں سے یہ شخص تو پیشاب سے پاکی حاصل نہیں کرتا تھا، اور رہا یہ تو یہ چغل خوری میں لگا رہتا تھا پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے کھجور کی ایک تازہ ٹہنی منگوائی، اور اسے بیچ سے پھاڑ کر دونوں قبروں پر ایک ایک شاخ گاڑ دی پھر فرمایا جب تک یہ ٹہنیاں خشک نہ ہوں شاید ان کا عذاب کم رہے ۔ ھناد نے «يستنزه» کی جگہ «يستتر» ( پردہ نہیں کرتا تھا ) ذکر کیا ہے۔
